Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler @

Noctua is truly the last word in the industry when it comes to quiet, high-performance air-based cooling products. Three years ago they released the highly regarded NH-U12P heatsink – a unit that was only challenged by the legendary Thermalright and Prolimatech units. Always improving their products, Noctua is once again back at it with a fully redesigned six heatpipe, massive dual fin array tower cooler – the NH-D14 is air cooling at the most high-end level imaginable. With immense manufacturing quality and an equally immense price tag, the NH-D14 carries quite a few expectations regarding performance. And, considering a consumer is now able to purchase a quiet, high-performance, self-contained water cooling unit (like the H50) for a slightly lower price than that of the NH-D14, the performance results should be beyond impressive.

Just a little while ago we took a look at Noctuas NH-C14 CPU cooler, it featured a C-shape top down design and proved to be one of th e best performing CPU coolers we have tested this year! Well today we are going to look at the C14s brother the NH-D14. It features an asymmetr ical tower-type design with 2 large fans. This once again is a huge CPU c ooler, but knowing Noctua it will provide great cooling and run pretty si lent. Lets check it out!

Its been nearly four years since we last looked at a Noctua air cooler here at OCIA.net. This is a real shame as they are widely considered one of the top air cooling manufacturers in the world, held in the same regard as Thermalright and Tuniq. Today we have their flagship cooler in for evaluation, the NH-D14. This is an absolute monster of a heatsink – more like two coolers welded together with dual fans. Those with cramped mid tower cases need not apply. But just because it is very large doesnt automatically make it worth your hard-earned money and this wouldnt be the first time that a large cooler has failed to deliver on perceived high expectations. Does the NH-D14 have what it takes to keep the Noctua brand in the top three globally? Keep reading as we put it to the test.

*Quote:* *Today weve got the newest, latest and greatest (and largest) cooler from Noctua, the new NH-D14 CPU Cooler. This cooler features a 140mm NF-P14 fan (reviewed here) as well as a NF-P12 120mm fan (reviewed here) so lack of airflow shouldnt be a problem. This cooler features a 6 heatpipe dual radiator design and looks to achieve good performance with low noise (which Noctua has become famous for). . .* If you feel that your readers would find this of interest, wed sure appreciate a post in your news section.

Noctua is well known for their top of the line cpu coolers, they have now developed a new cooler which is about twice the size of their older ones. Noctua coolers have always been quite big but this takes the prize so it is going to be interesting to see how well it performs.

*Quote:* *We will use this CPU cooler on a LGA1156 platform, so we will use the included backplate with its 1156 holes to put in the included screws the backplate has an intelligent design, because it can be used for LGA775,LGA1156 and LGA1366 it also has cuts to avoid the screws terminations from the LGA1156 socket.* *Link:* http://www.pcshoptalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24669 A post in your web news section would be much appreciated!
