The Web Admin is where the real features can be unlocked and utilized. From this page, you can tweak the configuration, access the web file manager, web server, multimedia station, download station and surveillance station should you have any IP cameras available.

The administration page goes into far more detail than the basic QNAP Finder configuration. Some of my favourite tools here include software reset and shutdown, Hard Disk SMART info, various user management details and system logs.

With the TS-209 Pro II, I’m going to take full advantage of the Download Station feature. I no longer need to keep my entire PC running while I download a torrent or a program. The interface is incredible easy to use and the configuration allows you to maximize your network performance.

The multimedia Station is another great addition for those using the QNAP TS-209 Pro II at home. Again, you don’t need to keep your entire PC running just to share a few pictures. The power difference is huge – a typical computer will use 300W but the TS-209 Pro II will draw less than 20W.

    Just to make sure everyone is on the same set of tracks. Yes, the new beta firmware is only available through the forums. The most current build is: [BETA] TS-109/209/409 v3.0.0 Build 0121. Here is a youtube video of the new interface. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJrQe19AZzM. Cheers!!
