Village Tronic ViBook Plus

The ViBook Plus looks very similar to the original ViBook; the package cover is the same size with the only difference being the “plus” symbol beside the name. The front of the package gives you an idea of what the housed components give you (video through USB) and the back of the package shows you some of the things you can do.

The sides highlight what is included in the box and what the system requirements are.

Pulling the cover off reveals the actual box containing the ViBook Plus. The box is identical to the original ViBook and the inside is organized exactly the same with a CD case for the driver software and a partitioned box to separate the ViBook Plus from the cables and mounting equipment.

The mounting hardware includes a 3M foam adhesive, a mounting bracket and two mounting screws. The mounting bracket allows the ViBook Plus to snap in while providing full access to the DVI and USB ports.

The USB port snaps in at the back and you choose between the VGA and DVI output based on what inputs are available on your monitor.

  1. Hi, Simon. Nice review, so nice in fact I want to buy one but can only find it at one online distributor, Harmonic Inversion Technologies.com. When I try to checkout after adding the product to the basket, my browsers and internet security program blocks my progress and gives big warnings about proceeding as the site is unsecured and possibly dangerous. I have e-mailed both Village Tronic and Harmonic but no one wants to respond. Do you have any direct contacts at either of these places or know where I can buy one at a reputable online dealer? It’s really frustrating as I just bought a 24″ monitor and would love to run it at full resolution.

    Thanks and again great review.
