Village Tronic ViBook Plus
Jan 2nd, 2010 | By SimonThe software required for WinXP/Vista is contained on the included driver CD. I decided to install the software on my Win 7 notebook which completed perfectly but required an upgrade so the proper drivers are used. When I brought the issue up with Harmonic Inversion, a retailer for the ViBook Plus, I got a solution within 24 hours that worked. They directed me to the updated 3.0.7 drivers here.

There are two key settings that you as an end user must do before the ViBook Plus works. The first is enabling the monitor and the second is determining whether or not the monitor will clone or extended to the left or the right of your primary. Once you’ve selected those, the rest is just fine tuning and not necessarily required: the beauty of simplicity.

If you try and use the ViBook Plus without the VT MultiDisplay software, i.e., you only install the drivers, you completely miss out on the advantages of the ViBook Plus. It’s a small detail but one of my favourite features with the VT MultiDisplay software is the one click program transfer to the other monitor. There’s absolutely no need to drag a window across the two screens.
Hi, Simon. Nice review, so nice in fact I want to buy one but can only find it at one online distributor, Harmonic Inversion Technologies.com. When I try to checkout after adding the product to the basket, my browsers and internet security program blocks my progress and gives big warnings about proceeding as the site is unsecured and possibly dangerous. I have e-mailed both Village Tronic and Harmonic but no one wants to respond. Do you have any direct contacts at either of these places or know where I can buy one at a reputable online dealer? It’s really frustrating as I just bought a 24″ monitor and would love to run it at full resolution.
Thanks and again great review.
Mark,
I will send an email to Harmonic Inversion for you and see what they can do. Send me an email me your email address and I will try and get someone to reply directly to you.
Regards,
Simon
